The Adsense Article System in a Box has a lot of tips and tricks for getting the most money from your Adsense ads.
One tip is to place your ads where people have a tendency to click on them more often. Google has even published information based upon their statistics that shows where the most clicks are made. One “hot spot” is on the left side of your page. The theory behind this is that most people read from left to right so are more inclined to see your ads on the left and click on them than if they were on the right side of the page.
